However, a majority of Czechs believe that a government headed by the Social Democrats (CSSD) would be for the economic situation even worse than the Civic Democrats. Some 47 percent said they did not believe Topolanek's government would help the economy in the long-run, while 30 percent took the opposite position. Czech, German ministers believe in progress in EU treaty ... no party would use the money from the state budget well. Czechs mostly believe that the current cabinet of the ODS, the Greens and the Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) will have a positive effect on the environment and also on the situation in education, police and public transport.
On the contrary, people mistrust the government's policy in health care and civil service. The poll was carried out among 1000 Czechs over 18. Topolanek's government wants to push through a reform package, concerning mainly taxes, pensions, health care and social benefits, but it has not reached agreement on its proposals and some of the plans have already been postponed.
