The soldier died when he was transported to hospital.
Further four troops in the Humvee military vehicle were wounded, one of them seriously.
The soldiers belong to the Czech Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT).
Picek said all five injured soldiers received first aid after the incident and a helicopter transported them to a military hospital in Bagram.
