A spokesman for Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has welcomed an African Union resolution calling for a unity government.
One of his ministers said Mugabe would talk with the opposition to end the political crisis following last week's disputed presidential election. Mbeki meets Mugabe in Harare ... African President Thabo Mbeki, the chief mediator between Mugabe's ZANU-PF party and the opposition, has warned against trying to impose a solution from the outside. He made the statement after French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said the European Union would only accept a Zimbabwean government led by Tsvangirai.
