The 40-year-old, best known for hits including I Should Be So Lucky and Spinning Around, was successfully treated for breast cancer in 2005.
When the New Year Honours List was announced in December the star said she was "deeply honoured" to be featured.
Minogue recently revealed she planned to continue singing on stage until the age of 60.
French honour
Speaking to Easy Living magazine, she said: "It's difficult to age with dignity in the pop business, but I'd like to think I've managed it so far."
She began her career as an actress in Australian children's series Skyways and The Henderson Kids before securing the role of feisty mechanic Charlene Mitchell in soap opera Neighbours.
Since embarking on her pop career Minogue has continued to reinvent herself.
In May the pop star received France's highest cultural honour, the Order of Arts and Letters.
