An army spokesman said that a rocket fired from the Beit Hanun area landed near the town of Sderot in southern Israel. According to the Israeli military, it was the sixth missile attack since Israel agreed to ease its blockade on the Gaza Strip in accordance with a truce reached two weeks ago with militant Palestinian groups in Gaza. The border crossings had been closed on Monday after an earlier Palestinian rocket attack but reopened again on Wednesday. Hamas insists that its own fighters are respecting the truce.
